Notify physicians and dentist of your move, and ask for referrals.
Make check-up appointment for pets. Obtain a copy of your pet's records and get new tags (if necessary). Check with your vet for vaccination and movement requirements for your new location.
Take an objective look at what you own and figure out what goes with you, gets left behind or goes into storage. Most moving companies have a minimum weight restriction. Above the minimum, more weight means more cost.
Contact any clubs or associations for information on transferring, selling or ending memberships.
Complete a change of address card at the post office for the following:
- Banks
- Charge cards
- Doctors and dentists
- Friends and relatives
- Social Security Administration
- Insurance broker, lawyer, accountant and stockbroker
- Religious organizations
- Magazines
- Schools
