McKee Homes is pleased to report that Airdrie's first Rotary Home is now Sold to some great people, with the proceeds being directed back to the local & International Rotary Club to assist in funding all their excellent humanitarian efforts.

MARTIN USED TO SAY, "It's a poor show if you can't help someone." And that philosophy is still the driving force behind McKee Homes' outreach in the community.

The latest in a long list of philanthropic contributions is McKee's new Rotary Home project. Begun with a December 12, 2007, groundbreaking in the community of Reunion, the home will be used to raise money to support the good work of the Rotary Club of Airdrie. McKee Homes along with Hopewell Residential Communities and numerous trades and suppliers are donating time or money to this project.

"I was thrilled that the project came to fruition so quickly," said Rotary Club president Susanne Evans. "We are going to divide the proceeds with 80 per cent being spent in our community and 20 per cent internationally."

"We built Airdrie's Rotary Home together with all of our partners, including trades, the developer Hopewell Residential Communities and the Rotary Club of Airdrie. The home was built with donations and contributions from all of the partners, and is now ready for sale. All funds raised will go directly to the Rotary Club of Airdrie."

Susanne Evans says the money will go to projects such as Airdrie Family Services, the Boys and Girls Club, leadership scholarships for students in Grade 12, the Miss School Miss Out stay in school program, youth leadership camps and much more.

"We will try to make a difference in as many places as we can," Susanne says. "With this windfall of money, there's really no end to the things we can do in our community."

This project both reflects and supports all the elements key to McKee Homes' success: building a new home, working with partners and investing generously in the community.
