Packing Tips

• Buy standardized moving boxes from a moving company. They're built for moving and pack together more evenly.
• Label your boxes as you pack them, including where they should go, in your new home.
• Pack heavy items in small boxes. Fill in around odd shaped items with plastic grocery bags.
• Wrap breakables in packing paper, bubble wrap, clothes or towels. Newspaper ink will smudge items.
• Leave lamps, china, and artwork and other breakables for professional movers to pack.
• Don't overstuff boxes; leave some extra room at the top.
• Never pack jewellery, important papers or medicine.
• Tape cords underneath all electrical appliances.
• Don't tape furniture doors and drawers - tape damages them.
• Professional movers will not move propane cylinders and other flammables.
